Abstract

FIELD: personal use items.

SUBSTANCE: proposed is an epilator having a housing and two parallel independent epilation heads. Each head is equipped with an independent suspension means, herewith the epilator additionally contains a separate driving mechanism for each head. Testing the heads with the proposed epilator demonstrated, that the user receives as the result an unknown previously flexibility of adjustment of working settings, since it is possible to select directions and speeds of the two heads rotation independently from each other.

EFFECT: such independent adjustment of settings allows each user to select the most convenient operating mode depending mainly on the user skin type and hair coat abundance, as well as on specific body areas to be epilated and individual tolerance to pain.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to an epilator comprising a body and two parallel hair removal heads. Each of the heads is equipped with its own drive mechanism and its own means of suspension.

State of the art

[0002] Mechanical hair removal apparatuses are conventionally performed with one or two hair removal heads. Epilating heads usually contain a set of disks located next to each other, mounted on a prestressed elastic element of a curved configuration, mounted for rotation on an appropriate support. These disks are equipped with dividing and hinge elements that provide a tilt when turning the disks, turning adjacent disks into a kind of epilating plucking tweezers. When they are brought into rotation, adjacent discs generally begin to tilt in pairs, forming a diverging opening zone and a converging compression zone, so that some discs are pressed against each other with the formation of plucking tweezers to grip and remove hair from the skin.

[0003] Epilators with two heads from two prestressed parallel curved cylinders mounted rotatably on an appropriate support are well known to those skilled in the art. Such epilators are described, in particular, in documents EP 1839522, FR 2690820, US 2005/0187563, US D 611198, EP 1839522, BR 8600524 U, JP 2006/175026, EP 1262117 and JP 09056446.

[0004] The epilators disclosed in the documents cited above have a drive mechanism common to both heads, which requires a common gear mechanism that does not allow each head to work independently.

[0005] However, as it turned out during the tests, the completely independent operation of the two working heads can increase the efficiency of the epilator. Among the parameters that can be controlled independently are the speed and direction of rotation of the two heads, as well as their positioning or flexibility of the suspension means.

[0006] None of the sources of the prior art describes a two-head epilator that would have features such as the already mentioned independent drive mechanisms and suspensions combined in one single device. Thus, in the known epilators there is no possibility of independent control of epilation heads.

Object of the invention

[0007] The invention is directed to an epilator with two parallel heads, which during use can be completely independently controlled by means of a separate drive mechanism and suspension means, which are individual for each of the two heads.

Disclosure of invention

[0008] An epilator is proposed comprising a body and two independent parallel epilating heads with a separate drive mechanism and suspension means for each of the heads.

[0009] Preferred embodiments of the invention are characterized by at least one of the following features or any suitable combination of these features:

- epilation heads are made in the form of rollers with parallel axes, equipped with plucking means;

- the distance between the plucking means is different for two hair removal heads;

- the curvature of the rollers is different for two hair removal heads;

- the housing contains means for adjusting the speed and direction of rotation of each of the two hair removal heads;

- epilation heads are removable to ensure the possibility of their alternation during use;

- individual suspension means include springs;

- individual means of suspension include separate means of adjusting the springs.

The implementation of the invention

[0015] Hair removal is a rather complicated affair, since the evaluation of the performance of the epilator by the user is always extremely subjective. Where some users choose efficacy, others will prefer epilators, which have a less aggressive effect on the skin. In addition, the assessment of the epilator depends on the type of skin and the abundance of the user's hairline. Therefore, there are no reliably quantifiable mechanical characteristics that would make it possible to produce the “best” epilator.

[0016] The epilation heads disclosed herein are in the form of generally cylindrical rollers provided with plucking means.

[0017] The epilator 1 according to the invention comprises one means 6 for adjusting the speed and direction of rotation for each head 5. In such an epilator, intermittent changes in speed can even be provided. In addition, it includes a set of interchangeable heads, which allows you to adapt the actual hair removal mechanism to the needs of a particular user, for example, by choosing, for example, the appropriate bends and the type of edges of the plucking means 7.

[0018] Independent control of the speeds and direction of rotation allows the use of two epilating heads 5 in a complementary manner, for example, by adjusting the profile and / or distance between the epilating disks located on each head 5. In this case, the diameter and curvature of each head can be adapted so that they will function in a complementary manner.

[0019] Tests of the heads with the proposed epilator showed that the user gets the previously unknown flexibility of adjusting the operating settings, since he has the ability to choose the direction and speed of rotation of the two heads independently of each other. This independent adjustment of the settings allows each user to choose the most convenient operating mode for him, depending mainly on the type of skin, the abundance of the user's hair, as well as on specific areas of the body to be epilated and individual pain tolerance.

[0020] The epilator 1 according to the invention can operate as two adjacent completely independent epilators, and the choice of settings for one of the heads does not in any way interfere with the selection of settings for the other head. Thus, for each of the heads, it is possible to freely select the plucking means 7, materials, diameters and positioning, which, in turn, allows to achieve the optimum degree of mutual complement or even synergy of the two heads. The indicated parameters can thus be selected in accordance with the individual needs of each user.

[0021] Furthermore, the positioning of the two heads is directly controlled by an independent flexible suspension system for both cylinders. This suspension system can be made with the possibility of its adjustment (see Fig. 2), which will achieve better adaptability to irregularities in the skin surface, similar to a car, where each wheel is equipped with its own separate shock absorber.

An epilator (1) comprising a housing and two independent parallel epilating heads (5) with a separate suspension means (3) for each of these heads (5), characterized in that the epilator (1) further comprises a separate drive mechanism (2) for each of these heads (5). 2. The epilator (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the epilator heads (5) are made in the form of rollers with parallel axes equipped with plucking means (7). 3. The epilator (1) according to 2, characterized in that the distance between the plucking means (7) is different for two hair removal heads (5). 4. The epilator according to claim 2, characterized in that the curvature of the rollers is different for two epilation heads (5). 5. The epilator (1) according to any one of paragraphs. 1-4, characterized in that the housing contains means for adjusting (6) the speed and direction of rotation of each of the two hair removal heads (5). 6.
