Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the fuel industry and, in particular, to the processing of coal processing waste and sorting of small classes of coal into briquettes suitable for transportation and storage, which can be used as fuel in households, boiler rooms, and also as process fuel.
[1]. Known methods for producing durable briquettes from coal mixtures, including 0.5-2.0 wt.% Alkali metal hydroxides [1].
However, this method involves the use of only coal components as the sole basis for briquetting mixtures and cannot be extended to finely dispersed clay coal sludge, which is a large tonnage coal preparation waste.
Closest to the proposed technical essence is a mixture [2] containing clay coal sludge with a 90% fraction less than 0.1 mm and coal fines. The clay component contained in sludges in significant quantities is a binder material when briquettes are obtained from them. The latter have a satisfactory strength. However, the strength of the briquettes (0.6-1.0 MPa) is still clearly insufficient during their transportation and use.
The objective of the invention is to give briquettes, including finely dispersed clay coal sludge, greater strength and stability during transportation.
To perform this task, the mixture contains, wt.%: Coal fines fraction less than 3 mm 1-70; alkali metal or ammonium hydroxide 0.5-2.0; clay coal sludge with a content of 90% fraction of less than 0.1 mm with an ash content of 20-60% of the rest.
Полученные брикеты подвергали естественной (3 сут) или термической (при 110-150oC) сушке (1 ч).To obtain briquettes, slimes of the Abashevskaya and Kuznetsk coal processing plants (Novokuznetsk) with an ash content of 20-60% were used. The size of the sludge was 90% lower than 0.1 mm. As a component of the charge used brand G coal of Sh. Baidaevskaya (Novokuznetsk) with a grain size of less than 3 mm. Alkali metal hydroxide solutions (NaOH, KOH, NH 4 OH) were added to the sludge, the proportion of which in the mixture in terms of solid was 0.5-2.5% by weight of the briquette. The mixture was stirred at 20-70 o C for 5-30 minutes A significant effect of temperature and mixing time on the strength of the briquette was not found. Briquettes were obtained on a hydraulic press at a pressing pressure of 100 MPa. Compressed briquettes had a cylindrical shape with a diameter of 50 mm and a height of 15-18 mm. The moisture content of the crude briquettes was 12-14%. The resulting briquettes were subjected to natural (3 days) or thermal (at 110-150 o C) drying (1 h).
The results of the research and testing of briquettes are shown in the table and show a significant increase in the strength of briquettes obtained from mixtures treated with alkalis.
Briquettes can 98% consist practically of sludge alone, since they have a rather large amount of clay substances in their mineral part, the astringent properties of which are enhanced by alkali. Small classes of fossil fuels do not contain a bonding base. This role in the mixture is played by sludge, the minimum amount of which in the briquette is 30%. The use of alkali NaOH, KOH, NH 4 OH gives, in general, a similar effect. The indicated limits of their concentrations are optimal. An increase in alkali content of more than 2.0% does not lead to a significant increase in the strength of the briquette. When the alkali content in the mixture is less than 0.5%, the strength of the briquette sharply decreases.
