Abstract
Description
The invention relates to medicine, in particular to ophthalmology.
A known method aimed at combating the processes of autosensitization, autointoxication with chemical burns of the eyes. To this end, lyophilized blood plasma dissolved in physiological saline is used.
After removal of necrotic masses, residues of burning substances, lyophilized blood plasma dissolved in physiological saline is applied to the cornea until complete epithelialization.
Lyophilized blood plasma, dissolved in physiological saline, neutralizes burning chemicals, helps maintain osmotic equilibrium under conditions of sorption of chemical products from the affected corneal tissue. Possessing good adhesive properties, plasma creates biological isolation of the affected area and performs a protective function: it inhibits the growth of newly formed vessels, protects against lacrimal fluid and pathogenic microflora.
However, in the first hours of the burn, a more active and thorough removal of the burning substance from the cornea is necessary, preventing its penetration into the deeper parts of the eye.
The essence of the invention lies in the sorption of toxic substances by silica gel. The proposed method for the treatment of chemical burns of the cornea is as follows. After a jet wash with water and anesthesia with a 0.5% solution of dicaine, a patient with a burn of the eyes is treated with micrograin silica gel before it is moistened (for 5-10 minutes), after which the silica gel is washed off with physiological saline. The cornea becomes more transparent. Then, lyophilized blood plasma dissolved in physiological saline is applied to the cornea. Silica gel applications are performed 1-2 times a day before the start of corneal epithelization, usually within 5-7 days, depending on the severity of the pathological process against the background of traditional treatment: anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and desensitizing agents that stimulate regeneration.
The claimed method differs from the known one in that it provides more active removal of the burning substance in the first hours of the burn by sorption, provides a decrease in the antigenic properties of the burned cornea, which ensures a more transparent healing of it. Silica gel significantly reduces corneal edema and its permeability to the burning substance, which prevents the penetration of newly formed vessels into the corneal tissue. The subsequent use of lyophilized blood plasma, dissolved in physiological saline, supports the sorption effect, improves trophism, regenerates the cornea, and maintains and restores its transparency.
The method is illustrated by the following clinical examples.

Patient B., 31, was admitted for a chemical burn (hydrochloric acid) of the conjunctiva and cornea of the left eye of the II degree, 5 days after receiving the burn. Prior to this, he was treated at the place of residence by traditional methods. Upon receipt, the visual acuity of the right eye is 0.5 not., The left hole 0.09 is not. Silica gel was applied to the patient for 10 minutes, followed by washing it off with physiological saline and applying lyophilized blood plasma dissolved in physiological saline for 5 days (before corneal epithelization) against the background of traditional treatment. The patient was discharged for 15 days. Visual acuity at discharge: right eye 0.5 not core., Left eye 0.8 not core. The cornea is transparent at discharge, no growth of newly formed vessels is noted.
