Способ производства композитных прокатных валков, при котором в кольцевом зазоре между формирующей поверхностью кристаллизатора и наплавляемой поверхностью заготовки создают рабочий слой путем заплавления кольцевого зазора чугунным расходуемым электродом, отличающийся тем, что в качестве кристаллизатора используют металлическую оболочку, которую после заплавления кольцевого зазора удаляют механической обработкой, при этом толщину стенки оболочки определяют из соотношения

где δ - толщина стенки оболочки, мм;
t - толщина наплавленного рабочего слоя, мм;
k1 - коэффициент, учитывающий зависимость толщины стенки оболочки от толщины наплавленного слоя;
k2 - коэффициент, учитывающий зависимость толщины стенки оболочки от диаметра наплавляемой заготовки.
