Abstract
The invention relates to a hot air dryer (100) for a coating installation, particularly for a coating installation for coating vehicle bodies (102), comprising a dryer working space (180) for accommodating objects to be dried, a conveying device (104) for conveying the objects to be dried through the dryer working space (180) along a direction of conveyance (106), whereby the objects to be dried cover a conveying contour (144) extending along the direction of conveyance (106). The hot air dryer also comprises an air supply channel (182), through which dryer supply air that is to be supplied to the dryer working space (180) can flow. The hot air dryer is additionally provided with a dividing wall (184), which is arranged between the dryer working space (180) and the air supply channel (182), and with air supply openings (186). The air supply openings are provided in the dividing wall (184) and enable the passage of dryer supply air out of the air supply channel (182) and into the dryer working space (180). The aim of the invention is to provide a hot air dryer of the aforementioned type, which is more compact and easier to manufacture than prior art hot air dryers. To this end, the air supply openings (186) are, at least in areas, asymmetrically arranged with regard to a vertical longitudinal central plane (145) of the conveying contour (144).
