Wskutek wywolanego przez wojne bra¬ ku benzyny stosowano wielokrotnie benzol do motorów spalinowych, który jednak nie jest zadawalajacym surogatem benzyny przedewszystkiem dlatego, ze posiada zbyt wysoki ciezar, wlasciwy, jak równiez z powodu stosunkowo zbyt znacznej za¬ wartosci wegla, -która wywoluje powsta¬ wanie sadzy i dymu.Spostrzezono, ze otrzymany z benzolu przy pomocy hydrogenizacji hexahydro- benzol przy zastosowaniu w motorach spalinowych zastepuje w zupelnosci ben¬ zyne i dlatego z powodzeniem moze byc stosowany do silników automobilowych i aeroplanowych. Stosunkowo wysoki sto¬ pien krzepniecia hexahydrobenzolu okolo +4° mozna obnizyc przez dodanie malych procentowo „ilosci innych substancyj, np. weglowodoru lub alkoholu. Naprzyklad przez dodanie 5$ benzolu uzyskac mozna obnizenie punktu krzepniecia do — 17°, tak ze pod tym wzgledem nowy ten suro- gat benzyny odpowiada wszelkim wyma¬ ganiom. PL PLAs a result of the shortage of gasoline caused by the war, benzol was repeatedly used in internal combustion engines, which, however, is not a satisfactory substitute for gasoline, mainly because it has too high a specific weight, and also because of the relatively too high carbon content, which causes the formation of gasoline. It has been found that the hexahydrobenzol obtained from benzol by hydrogenation when used in internal combustion engines completely replaces gasoline, and therefore it can be successfully used in automobile and aircraft engines. The relatively high coagulation rate of hexahydrobenzole, around + 4 °, can be lowered by adding small percentages of other substances, for example hydrocarbon or alcohol. For example, by adding 5% benzol, it is possible to lower the freezing point to -17 °, so that in this respect the new gasoline raw material meets all requirements. PL PL
