Description

Przeciecie helmu i rzut poziomy przed¬ stawia rysunek. PL PLThe effort to produce iron helmies in order to obtain complete protection against shrapnel balls and a high degree of safety against grenade fragments has led to the production of helms from ordinary and unhardened iron manganese sheets; the task was not solved, however. The difficulty is that a number of conditions must be met simultaneously, both for the production and use of helm. For use, it is required that the helm covers those parts of the head which require protection, that it has sufficient thickness against the action of projectiles, and at the same time - low weight. For the workmanship it is important that the whole helm is made from a single piece of sheet metal by cold pressing. * Low weight requires the use of thin sheets, and the same use of high-grade hardened steel grades. The production of helms from these noble steels by means of stamping, especially if the helm is to have an eye visor and a neck protector in addition to the headband, presents considerable difficulties, mainly due to the high strength (80 kg / mm2) of these steels, already in annealed state. trials have shown that certain grades of steel have sufficient cold-forming ability to enable the extrusion of helm with a high header, visor and neck protector without cracking or creasing. The production of helms from one piece has the advantage that it increases the protective effect, because it has no protruding seams or rivets, etc., which facilitates the deflection of projectiles from the helm. The embossed helm is then toughened and using a sheet of thickness 1 .0 mm gives complete protection against shrapnel balls, even from the shortest distance, and also hitherto unattainable from grenade fragments. A suitable material is chrome-nickel steel. Any heavy drawbar with pressure clamps can be used to make the helm shape. The final form is achieved by several steps of pressing, or perhaps you need seven times or more. The elongated shape is suitable either at the very beginning or only at the end of the embossing. Helium cutting and the horizontal projection show drawing. PL PL
