Description

'.Wynalazek dotyczy sposobu wyrobu profilów metalowych, zapomoca „ciagnie¬ nia". Marcel Adolphe Hardy.Zastepca: A. Laski, . rzecznik patentowy.J.'o opisu patentowego Ns 66(k Kr. 2 S ZAKLBRAF.KOZIAHSUCH W WMSZAfllE PLThe invention relates to a method of producing metal profiles by means of "pulling". The method consists in the fact that the piston, moving in a cylinder, in the bottom of which there is a hole of a suitable shape, presses the block of metal, acting on its entire length. A method which has given satisfactory results on metals or alloys which can be drawn cold or at relatively low temperatures has so far not been practically applicable to steel. The metal to be treated must be preheated, because the cylinder should be made of a material that is badly heat-conducting to prevent the metal from cooling too quickly, or the temperature of the cylinder wall should be kept at a certain height. When treating malleable metals at low temperature, e.g. copper, brass or etc. the cylinder walls can be easily made of a material that is durable and badly conductive to heat, which withstands pressure without deforming * and prevents rapid cooling loading of the processed material. The situation is different for the steel that needs to be heated to a high temperature, because unless the cylinder walls have a sufficiently high temperature, the steel along the wall cools down rapidly and requires considerable force to compress it. The temperature to which the cylinder walls can be heated, however, is limited due to the resistance which they must resist deformation. The invention aims to apply this treatment method, also to steels of other metals, alloys or similar bodies requiring in high-temperature treatment. The invention consists in the fact that the piston presses the metal block to be treated not over its entire front surface, as is usually the case with the known method, but only on the central part of this surface; a mass of metal remains between the piston and the inner wall of the cylinder, acting as an insulating layer for the central part of the block, which sufficiently secures the plasticity of the material, necessary for processing. In this way, a cylinder can be used, the walls of which are heated to a temperature which is not detrimental to its strength, or only very little heated. For a better understanding, a schematic construction of the device according to the invention is shown in Fig. 1 of the accompanying drawing, and in Fig. 2, a schematic construction according to the invention. "In Fig. 1, in the cylinder a there is a piston which presses on the metal block acting on the entire front surface m n. However, in the construction, according to Fig. 2, the piston acts only on the central part pq of the metal block c, which is malleable as the entire external part cools down and forms an insulating layer. In this method, a suitable device should be provided to open the cylinder and place the block to be processed therein. and after the piston is finished, remove the remaining unused mass from the cylinder. This method can be successfully applied to heated blocks, both in a soft state, not yet solidified after casting. no difference whether the block is made of one piece or several parts, placed one inside another, of one or different materials, heated together or separately, to the same or different temperatures. This method can be used for machining any metal or alloy, for a metallic body, both non-metallic, which require a temperature higher than the usual temperature. Patent claim. • A method of producing metal profiles by pulling a piston, pressing against a block of metal in a cylinder, which has a bore of a suitable shape, the characteristic that the pressure piston acts only on the central part of the block, so that between the piston and the inner wall of the cylinder there is a mass of metal as an insulating layer The center part of the block, which thus retains the plasticity necessary for machining.
