Przy wyrobie szkla potasowego dodaje sie potas glównie w postaci potaszu, przy- czem uzywa sie pctasnu kalcyncwanego, o- raz potaszu wodorotlenkowego (Hydrat- pottasche) z zawartoscia 83% K2C05, o tyle lepszego cdi potaszu kalcyncwanego, ze jest mniej higroskopijny, wiec jest trwal¬ szy przy przechowywaniu. Zalete te posia¬ da w wyzszym jeszcze stopniu dwuweglan potasu, bo sól ta nie ulega w powietrzu zadnej zmia¬ nie, wiec jezeli sie ja przechowuje, to nawet po bardzo dlugim czasie jej zawar¬ tosc K20 pozostaje niezmieniona, a przy stapianiu tej soli nie potrzeba odparowy¬ wac tyle wody, co przy stapianiu potaszu wodorotlenkowego, natomiast wydzielaj a- cy sie dwutlenek wegla przyczynia sie do dobrego wymieszania plynnego szkla. Za¬ leta tej soli jest równiez latwosc z jaka o- na krystalizuje, co ulatwia jej produkcje w duzych ilosciach i w stanie bardzo czy¬ stym. PL PL
