Przedmiotem zgłoszenia są sposób inhibowania rybonukleazy Dicer, inhibitor rybonukleazy Dicer oraz zastosowanie aptamerow RNA do inhibowania rybonukleazy Dicer. Bardziej szczegółowo rozwiązanie dotyczy zastosowania aptamerow RNA jako inhibitorów rybonukleazy Dicer działających na zasadzie kompetycji (aptamery jako inhibitory kompetycyjne), zastosowania aptamerow RNA jako allosterycznych inhibitorów rybonukleazy Dicer oraz zastosowania aptamerow RNA jako selektywnych inhibitorów powstawania wybranych miRNA.
