Description
PLFinely ground natural graphite, added to lubricating oils as a friction reducing agent in mechanical bearings, separates very quickly from the excipient and settles at the bottom of the vessel. The grease added to greases in colloidal grinding also separates from the grease and falls to the bottom of the vessel. It has been found that the addition of potassium soap as an emulsifying agent to graphite grease gives the greases a significant durability. Since the main cause of suspension instability is the greater or lesser acidity of the lubricating oils, the lubricating oil may be neutralized before adding graphite to it by passing the oil through filters of diatomaceous earth or carbonaceous carbon. The method of producing the lubricant according to the invention consists in mixing the lubricating oil for 1-1.1 hours with a fixing agent used in an amount of 0.05-10% depending on the type of oil and the purpose of the lubricant. Then from 0.03 to 25% of the graphite ground in a colloid mill is added to the mixture obtained and mixed for 1-1.2 hours. The grease prepared in this way is diluted with 4-100 times the amount of pure grease oil and subjected to a further mixing for 1 to 1% of an hour. Mixing is carried out at a temperature of 15 to 100 ° C depending on the type of oil. PL
