Abstract
[Problem] To provide a release film for manufacturing a ceramic green sheet, whereby the release film can be peeled with a small uniform force even from an ultra-thin ceramic green sheet having a thickness of 1 æm or less, there is no risk of pinholes and other defects in the release film, and transfer of a silicone component to the ceramic green sheet is suppressed. [Solution] A release film for manufacturing a ceramic green sheet, the release film having as a base material a biaxially oriented polyester film, the base material having on at least one surface thereof a surface layer A containing essentially no inorganic particles, a release layer being layered directly or via another layer on the surface of the surface layer A on the at least one surface, the release layer being obtained by curing a composition including at least a release agent and a melamine-based compound, the release agent being a polyorganosiloxane containing a carboxyl group, and the content ratio of the melamine-based compound being at least 80 pcnt by mass with respect to the solid content of the composition forming the release layer.
