Abstract

Referido a un proceso para la preparacion de etanol que comprende: (a) convertir una biomasa seca en material particulado; (b)preparar una pasta de dicho material en agua; (c) colocar dicha pasta en contacto con una mezcla de acidos a una temperatura deseada por un periodo de tiempo determinado produciendo xilosa para obtener un primer flujo; (d) ajustar el pH con una base; (e) colocar el flujo neutralizado en contacto con enzimas celuloliticas a una temperatura deseada durante un periodo de tiempo, liberando glucosa para obtener un segundo flujo; (f)agregar melaza o jarabe de cana al segundo flujo para obtener el tercer flujo; (g) someter el tercer flujo a una levadura para fermentacion de pentosa y hexosa para obtener un flujo fermentado y (h) separar el etanol de dicho flujo fermentado por medio de destilacion. En particular, se usa de biomasa lignocelulosica, la mazorca de maiz, las hojas y tallos; el bagazo de cana de azucar.
