Abstract
Se refiere a un metodo para producir material de queratina altamente digerible, parcialmente hidrolizado, preferiblemente de plumas, pelo, lana, pezunas o unas, que comprende los pasos de (1) hidrolizar material de queratina en presencia de agua, en un hidrolizador con calor y a una presion entre aproximadamente 2 bar y aproximadamente 100 bar, y (2) secar y triturar al mismo tiempo el material de queratina hidrolizado resultante en un molino de turbulencia de aire a aproximadamente presion atmosferica tal que la caida en la digestibilidad de pepsina y/o ileal sea inferior al 10% y/o la digestibilidad de pepsina e ileal permanecen mas altas que respectivamente 75% y 80%, en donde el material de queratina resultante comprende material al menos parcialmente insoluble, y en donde e l tamano promedio de particula del producto seco que sale del molino de turbulencia de aire se mide corno d50 en la fraccion de volumen, medida con difraccion laser usando un analizador de tamano de particula Beckman Coulter de polvo seco, es entre aproximadamente 20 µm y aproximadamente 0.7 mm y el d90 esta por debajo de aproximadamente 1 mm
