SE REFIERE A UN METODO PARA LA PRODUCCION DE COMPUESTOS CAROTENOIDES ASIMETRICOS QUE COMPRENDE: a) PROVEER UNA CELULA HUESPED QUE PRODUCE CAROTENOIDES ACICLICOS CON POR LO MENOS UN GRUPO DE EXTREMO EN DONDE DICHA CELULA HUESPED EXPRESA UNA ß-CICLASA DE LICOPENO, SELECCIONADA DEL GRUPO DE i) UNA MOLECULA DE ACIDO NUCLEICO AISLADA QUE CODIFICA LA SECUENCIA DE AMINOACIDOS SELECCIONADA DE SEC.ID NO:2 Y SEC.ID NO:4; ii) UNA MOLECULA DE ACIDO NUCLEICO AISLADA QUE SE HIBRIDA CON (i) BAJO CONDICIONES DE HIBRIDACION, iii) UNA MOLECULA DE ACIDO NUCLEICO AISLADA QUE CODIFICA UN POLIPEPTIDO QUE TIENE POR LO MENOS UNA IDENTIDAD DEL 70% PARA LOS POLIPEPTIDOS SELECCIONADOS DEL GRUPO CONSISTENTE DE SEC ID NO:2 Y SEC ID NO.4 EN BASE AL METODO DE ALINEACION DE SMITH-WATERMAN; b) DESARROLLAR LA CELULA HUESPED BAJO CONDICIONES POR LAS CUALES SE PRODUCEN LOS CAROTENOIDES ASIMETRICOS; c) RECUPERAR DICHOS CAROTENIDES.
