Abstract
Compositions and methods for treating skin redness. According to an embodiment, the invention is a topical skin care composition having a dermatologically acceptable vehicle, such as, water and a plurality of ingredients dissolved in the vehicle. The ingredients include: a blend of natural oils; a plurality of vitamins; and 0.1 - 1 wt% salicyloyl phytosphingosine. The composition is unsuitable for application on the eyelids or eye area. The blend of natural oils includes: aloe barbadensis leaf juice extract; cocos nucifera (coconut oil); hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans; and caprylic/capric triglycerides. The plurality of vitamins is selected from a group consisting of vitamin C, vitamin E, salts/derivatives of vitamin C and vitamin E, and mixtures thereof. In one aspect, the plurality of vitamins includes: sodium ascorbyl phosphate; disodium lauriminodipropionate tocopheryl phosphate; and jojoba oil.
Claims (16)
1. A topical skin care composition, comprising: a dermatologically acceptable vehicle and a plurality of ingredients dissolved in the vehicle, wherein the ingredients include: a blend of natural oils; a plurality of vitamins; acetyl tetrapeptide-40; and 0.1 – 1 wt% salicyloyl phytosphingosine, wherein the composition is unsuitable for application on the eyelids.
2. The composition ing to Claim 1, wherein the blend of natural oils includes: aloe barbadensis leaf juice t; cocos nucifera (coconut oil); hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans; and caprylic/capric triglycerides.
3. The composition according to Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein the plurality of vitamins is selected from a group ting of vitamin C, vitamin E, salts/derivatives of vitamin C containing a butenolide structural motif, salts/derivatives of n E containing a tocopherol ural motif, and mixtures thereof.
4. The composition according to Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein the plurality of ns includes: sodium ascorbyl phosphate; disodium lauriminodipropionate tocopheryl phosphate; and jojoba oil
5. The composition according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, wherein the ingredients further include dried neem leaf extract (Melia azadirachta).
6. The composition according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, wherein the ingredients r include a thickening agent.
7. The composition according to Claim 6, wherein the thickening agent is selected from a group consisting of a polyacrylamide, a C13-14 isoparaffin, Laureth-7 and mixtures thereof.
8. The composition ing to any one of Claims 1 to 7, wherein the ingredients further include salts of: (A) hyaluronic acid; and (B) glycyrrhizic acid.
9. The composition according to any one of Claims 1 to 8, wherein the composition is in a form selected from the group consisting of lo tions, creams, serums, gels, sticks, sprays, ointments, liquid , foams and mousses.
10. The composition according to any one of Claims 1 to 9, wherein the vehicle is water.
11. A topical skin care composition, sing: spray dried powdered aloe vera; Cocos nucifera ut oil); dried neem leaf extract (Melia azadirachta); acetyl tetrapeptide-40; sodium hyaluronate; dipotassium rhizate; about 0.2 wt % salicyloyl phytosphingosine; sodium ascorbyl phosphate; and water.
12. The composition ing to Claim 11, further comprising a thickening agent, wherein the thickening agent is selected from a gr oup consisting of a polyacrylamide, a C13-14 isoparaffin, Laureth-7 and mixtures f.
13. The composition according to Clai m 12, further sing hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans.
14. The composition according to Claim 13, further comprising disodium lauriminodipropionate tocopheryl phosphate.
15. The composition ing to Claim 14, wherein the composition has a viscosity of 30,000-50,000 cPs at 25 degrees C.
