Forbedret fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av formylfosfonsyrederi- vat. Et aminometylfosfonsyresubstrat bringes i kontakt med et reagens valgt blant vann, en alkohol, en fenolfor- bindelse og blandinger derav og en oksiderende gass i nærvær av en kata- lysator slik at det dannes en reak- sjonsproduktblanding som inneholder et formylfosfonsyrederivat, og omsetningen utføres under betingelser som er regu- lert slik at ikke mer enn 50% av for- mylfosfonsyrederivatet dannet i reak- sjonsblandingen forbrukes ved reaksjon med reagenset.
