Abstract
En katalysator-enhet for anvendelse ved en eksoterm reaksjon, så som ammoniakkoksidasjon, omfatter et materiale som er effektivt som katalysator for nevnte reaksjon, med en form som svarer til en skive eller konus med mange rifler med radial utstrekning. Katalysator-enheten kan være anbrakt tvers over en re- aktor med en oppstartings-brenner anbrakt over katalysator-enheten og montert for rotasjon omkring reaktorens akse. Brenner-røret dreies og er forsynt med inn- retninger, for eksempel et vedheng som griper inn i den øvre overflate av kataly- sator-enheten, slik at etter hvert som brenneren roteres rundt aksen, dreies bren- ner-røret under opprettholdelse av brenner-røret i en konstant avstand over kata- lysator-enhetens øvre overflate.
