Abstract

Utstyr for å frembringe synkroniserings- og informasjonsutveksling i et nettverk, slik som et digitalt televisjonskringkastningsnettverk ved anvendelse av et paradigma for ledelseoperasjoner i og styring av et nettverk. En ledelse-enhetskomponent, slik som en datamaskin-arbeidsstasjon, som fungerer i et styresenter, koordinerer arbeidsfunksjonene for forskjellige agentkomponenter, slik som maskinvare som anvendes i hodeenden eller opplinje-stedet for et televisjonsnettverk. Agentkomponentene anvendes for å frembringe betinget tilgang til et televisjonssignal ved å innføre data for betinget tilgang inn i den utsendte programmering. Ledelse- informasjonsbase (MIB) er anordnet for agentkomponenten og ledelsekomponenten. Agentkomponentene oppdaterer sine MIB-enheter med informasjon om kommunikasjonsnettverket slik som forandringer i en televisjons-hendelsefordeling. Ledelsekomponenten avleser periodisk agentenes MIB-enheter for å utlede oppdatert informasjon og lagre denne i sin egen MIB. Ledelsekomponenten avgir informasjon til agentenes MIB-enheter i samsvar med den oppdaterte informasjon som er oppnådd fra agentene for å synkronisere innføringen av data inn i den digitale kringkastede datastrøm ved hjelp av agentene.
