Abstract

Foreliggende oppfinnelse beskriver fremgangsmåter for å fremstille voluminøst partikkelformet materiale som innbefatter faste i alt vesentlig elliptiske partikler. Uregelmessig formede matepartikler med en midlere partikkelstørrelse på opptil 25 mikron på volumbasis blir dispergert i det minste en del av en brennbar gassblanding ved anvendelse av kraft og/eller fluidiseringsmidler. Den brennbare blandingen med partiklene i suspensjon tilføres samtidig som man kontrollerer agglomorering eller gjentatt agglomorering av partiklene, til minst en flammefront. Der blir blandingen og de suspenderte partikler jevnt fordelt over overflaten av flammefronten og ført gjennom denne med en høy konsentrasjon av partikler i blandingen. Denne flammefronten og de resulterende flammer med suspenderte partikler er plassert i minst en »veggfri» sone. I en slik sone eller soner blir flammen eller flammene ekspandert eller utvidet samtidig som partiklene holdes i dispersjon og oppvarmes med kontrollert og meget effektiv anvendelse av varmeenergi. I nevnte soner skjer det så en delvis smelting i det minste på overflatene av partiklene med høy varmeeffekt samtidig som man hemmer en agglomorering av partiklene under smeltingen.
