Abstract

Foreliggende oppfinnelse omhandler en fremgangsmåte for å hemme bakterier i å adhere til en senkbar overflate. Fremgangsmåten omfatter påføring på den senkbare overflaten av en effektiv menge av minst en fettsyreester av polyglykol for å hemme bakteriell adhesjon til den senkbare overflaten. Fore- liggende oppfinnelse omhandler også en fremgangsmåte for å kontrollere begroing av et vandig system. Denne fremgangsmåten tilsetter en effektiv mengde av minst en fettsyreester av polyglykol for å hemme bakterier i å adhere til en senket overflate i det vandige systemet. Denne fremgangsmåten sørger for en effektiv kontroll av begroing, uten å drepe de forurensende organismene i vesentlig grad. Den foreliggende oppfinnelsen omhandler også en blanding som inneholder fettsyreestere av polyglykol og er anvendelig i de ovenfor nevnte fremgangsmåter.
