Abstract

La presente invencion se relaciona a un método para inhibir que las bacterias se adhieran a una superficie sumergible. El método pone en contacto la superficie sumergible con una cantidad efectiva de al menos un éster de poliglicol ácido graso para inhibir la adhesion bacteriana a la superficie sumergible. La presente invencion también se relaciona a un método para controlar biocontaminacion de un sistema acuoso. Este método agrega una cantidad efectiva de por lo menos un éster de poliglicol ácido graso para inhibir que las bacterias se adhieran a una superficie sumergida dentro del sistema acuoso. Este método controla efectivamente la biocontaminacion sin matar substancialmente las bacterias. La presente invencion también se relaciona a composiciones que contienen ésteres de poliglicol ácido graso y utilizables en los métodos anteriores. Las composiciones comprenden por lo menos un éster de poliglicol ácido graso en una cantidad suficiente para inhibir que las bacterias se adhieran a superficies sumergibles o sumergidas.
