Abstract

Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører en fremgangsmåte for å samle inn informasjon om trafikksituasjoner, det vil si om gjeldende trafikksituasjon og de optimale ruter mellom en startposisjon og et mål. Med den hensikt å benytte et mobiltelefonnett på en raskere og mer effektiv måte, er det ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse foreslått en fremgangsmåte karakterisert ved at nevnte informasjon beregnes på basis av informasjon om bevegelse og posisjon av alle eller et utvalg av mobiltelefoner eller mobilt utstyr i et område, idet denne informasjon er tilveiebrakt fra selve mobiltelefonnettet, f.eks. fra et posisjonssenter (PC), fra utstyr i basestasjonen (BS) eller fra mobiltelefonen/utstyret hvis posisjonsdata tilgjengelig fra dette utstyr (f.eks. tilknyttet satellittposisjonssystem).
