Abstract

Disparitetsestimering mellom pikselluminansverdier for høyre og venstre bilde i et stereoskopisk videosignal optimaliseres ved bestemmelse av den minimale minste- kvadrat-feil mellom makroblokker (230, 210) i det høyre (220) og venstre (200) bilder. Affine transform koeffisienter og disparitetsvektorer som tilsvarer den minimale feil blir også bestemt og overført i datastrømmen til bruk i en dekoder ved rekonstruksjon av det høyre bildet (220). Programmet kan følges lokalt eller på makroblokknivå eller globalt på bildenivå. Ved makroblokknivået kan minste-kvadrat-feil optimalisering foregå for hver individuell makroblokk i det høyre bildet 220. I dette tilfellet frembringes det affme transform koeffisienter a, b for hver makroblokk på bildenivået der summen av de minste-kvadrat-feil minimaliseres etter at blokkene for det høyre bildet (220) er blitt tilpasset det venstre bildet (200). I dette tilfelle er bare ett sett affme transform koeffisi- enter nødvendig for hele det høyre bildet (220). Ellers kan blokktilpasning mellom et affint transformert venstre bilde (200) og det høyre bildet (220) utføres etter minimali- sering av summen av de minste-kvadrat-feil. Programmet er særlig nyttig ved minima- lisering av virkningene av krysskanal luminansubalanse på grunn av kameravariasjoner og scener med betydelig vekslinger i lysstyrke eller kontrast, og kan tilpasses stereo- skopiske videosystemer som MPEG Multi-view Profile (MVP) systemet.
