Et indre rør (1) er belagt med en kappe av et ytre plastrør (3) med stor fasthet og bestandighet. Mellomrommet mellom det indre røret (1) og plastrøret (3) er fylt med polymerbetong (2) bestående av en polymer og et fyllstoff (inntil 95%) med høy egenvekt og termisk magasineringsevne; og et lag med skummet termoplast (5), med en tykkelse som er avhengig av det ytre miljø og temperaturen på mediet som skal transporteres i røret.
