Abstract
Et apparat (10) for å blåse opp en oppblåsbar passasjer- fastspenningsanordning (12) for et kjøretøy omfatter en kolli- sjonssensor (52) og en oppblåsningsenhet (20). Kollisjons- sensoren (52) frembringer et kollisjons-signal som indikerer at kjøretøyet er i en kollisjon. Oppblåsningsenheten (20) omfatter en første kilde (22) av oppblåsningsfluidum, som når aktivert, frembringer et første volum av oppblåsningsfluidum. Oppblåsningsenheten (20) omfatter videre en annen kilde (24) av oppblåsningsfluidum, som, når aktivert, frembringer et andre volum av oppblåsningsfluidet som er forskjellig fra det i første volum. En posisjons-sensor (70) frembringer et posi- sjonssignal som indikerer posisjonen til en passasjer i kjøre- tøyet. En styringsanordning (50) aktiverer de første og andre kilder (22, 24) av oppblåsningsfluidum i en av et flertall forskjellige operasjonsmodi som respons på kollisjons-signalet og posisjons-signalet.
