Abstract

En jigg er avtagbart festet på den nære ende av en installert intramedulær spiker som har et transversal bolthull nær den fjerne ende på spikeren. Når jiggen er kjoksmontert på spikeren, er aksene til et eller flere føringshull i malen parallelle med aksen til et eller flere bolthull i spikeren, og tilsvarende føringshullakser og bolt- hullakser er i samme avstand fra for- skyvningsarmen. Den fjerne ende på malen er innrettet for avtagbar montering av en metalldetektor som etablerer et mag- netfelt rundt en retningsakse, slik at metalldetektoren kan skannes på en side og så på den andre side av en sentral stilling i hvilken retningsaksen for detektoren lokalt krysser aksen til spikeren. Tilhorende elektroniske kret- ser merker de stillinger av malen ved hvilke like detektorsignaler oppstår på motsatte sider av den sentrale stilling, og en mikroprosessorkomponent i kretsene kan automatisk beregne og vise en verdi som representerer den beregnede senter- stilling. Samtidig vil en annen skjerm kontinuerlig vise øyeblikksstillingen for retningsaksen til metalldetektoren, slik at den avsøkende fjerne del av jiggen kan plasseres til å vise en øye- blikksstilling som er tilpasset den viste verdi av den beregnede senterposi- sjon. Den sentrale posisjon og det fjerne føringshull i malen er nå i aksiell innretning med de tilsvarende fjerne bolthull i spikeren.
