Abstract

Ved en fremgangsmåte for frem- stilling av en optisk fiber forsynt med et hermetisk belegg ledes en ubelagt fiber inn i et eneste reaksjonskammer. For belegning av fiberen innføres en rågass i reaksjonskammeret mens den ubelagte fiber passerer gjennom dette. Minst en av faktorene strømningshas- tigheten, sammensetningen, konsentra- sjonen og temperaturen til rågassen i reaksjonskammeret blir kontinuerlig variert i bevegelsesretningen for den ubelagte fiber som passerer gjennom reaksjonskammeret. Et apparat for ut- førelse av framgangsmåten har ett eneste reaksjonskammer (20) i hvilket en ubelagt fiber (1) og rågass er be- regnet å skulle innføres for å påføre et hermetisk belegg på den ubelagte fiber mens denne passerer gjennom reak- sjonskammeret. Reaksjonskammeret (20) har flere innløpsrør (25a,b,c og d) for å innføre rågassen. De mange innløpsrør er åpne mot reaksjonskammeret (20) i forskjellige stillinger i forhold til hverandre i bevegelsesretningen for den ubelagte fiber når denne passerer gjen- nom reaksjonskammeret.
