Abstract
The multiplex device of the flexible multiplex system is used for dividing a multiplex channel into several subscriber channels (CH1 to CH6). Each data input (E1 to E6) is associated with one serial/parallel converter (SPU1 to SPU6), the parallel outputs of which are connected via a data bus (DBM) to a parallel/serial converter (PSU) which outputs at its output the multiplex signal (MS). A memory control (STS) specifies the number of subscriber channels (CH1 to CH6) and their data rate. It also provides for the insertion of the frame alignment words (SO1, SO2) and of the signalling words (DO1 to DO6) at the correct time. The demultiplex device is constructed to correspond to the multiplex device. <IMAGE>
