Ved en fremgangsmåte og i et anlegg for kontinuerlig uttak og bearbeiding av vannbaserte flytende og faste borerester, samt også spylevæske og tilsatt smussvann, finner folgende prosess- trinn sted: 1) de vannbaserte flytende og faste borerester mellomlagres og homogeniseres, vannbaserte flytende og faste borerester som inneholder mineraler og organiske substanser destabiliseres ved innstilling av pH-verdien, de pH-verdiinnstilte, vannbaserte flytende og faste borerester omrores for å hindre en sedimentering, de vannbaserte flytende og faste borerester fortynnes, de utpumpede vannbaserte flytende og faste borerester fra mellomlageret behandles med flokningsmiddel, faststoffandelen av borerestene utflokkes og avsettes, vann og faststoff adskilles, det sedimenterte faststoff uttrekkes for videre anvendelse eller utplassering, eventuelt etter forutgående konsentrasjon, og vannet avgis til et klaringsanlegg og/eller resirkuleres for å frembringe fortynning i prosess forlcpet (i mellom- lagrene).
