Omsetningen forløper i alminnelighet raskt og kvantitatxvti^ Da hydrokarbonet og hydrogenet som dannes enten er gasser eller lavtkokende væske, kan disse lett skilles fra. Ved! anvendelse av rene utgangsmaterialer kommer man i et trinn straks til analyserende produkter som ikke trenger noen ytterligere rensing.

I| en 1 liters firehalvskolbe utstyrt med en kraftig rører, 250 ml dråpetrakt med trykkutjevning og tilbakeløpskjøler samt en anordning for arbeid under beskyttelsesgass, inn-føres under inertgassatmosfære ved romtemperatur 72,8 g Drpantenol (354,7 mMol) og 400 ml absolutt diklormetan. D-pantenol løser seg dårlig i diklormetan, røres meget kraftig-og det avkjøles til 5 C i isbad. Denne emulsjonei ti<i>ldryppes i løpet av en time 23,46 g triisobutylaluminium (30,0 ml, 118,2 mMol) oppløst i 150 ml absolutt toluen. jMan får derved hvit, rørbar masse. Når alt har dryppet til, i lar man oppvarme til romtemperatur og deretter til 60^C

i (badtemperatur) og avdestillerer diklormetanet. Så oppvarmes 2 timer ved toluenets tilbakeløpstemperatur. Etter
I avkjøling til ca. 50^C fjernes toluenet først på vannstråle-.i piumpen, hvorpå man tørker på oljepumpe til konstant vekt. 'Man tørker 24 timer ved 50^C i vakumtørkeskap med oljepumpe, i hvoretter produktet derved etter hvert blir fast. Etter j 'avkjølingen lar den fargeløse amorfe masse seg knuse i en morte til et hvitt pulver som er svakt hygroskopisk. Man 'får 73,24 g aluminium-D-pantenolat med smeltepunktintervall i o 20 0 !78-82 C og en spesifiert dreining: ta]D = +47,8 (c = 1 i dimetylsulfoksid) .

a) I en 500 ml 3-halset kolbe, forsynt med dråpetrakt, om-f-rører og anordning for arbeid under beskyttelsesgass, inn- I
føres under beskyttelsesgass 9,1 ml absolutt isopropanoll ( = 7,1 g = 118,3 mmol), samt 300 ml absolutt n-heksan og avkjø-les til ca. 5°C. Under god røring tildryppes en oppløsning j av 10 ml triisobutylaluminium (= 7,82 g 39,4 mmol) i 60 ml ; absolutt n-heksan. Deretter lar man først temperaturen ij re-; aksjonskolben stige til romtemperatur ved fjerning av kjiøle-j badet, og oppvarmer deretter 2 timer til 50°C. Man får på
denne måte en klar oppløsning av aluminiumisopropylat i n-hi eksan. i
' b) 24,3 g D-pantenol (= 118,3 mmol) innføres i et appatat '

Man rører 2 timer ved romtemperatur og oppvarmer 4 timer under tilbakeløpskjøling. Deretter destillerer man n-heksan og isopropanol av ved normalt trykk. Fra dråpe-trakten tilsettes absolutt n-heksan (ca. 300 ml) inntilj det ikke kan påvises noe isopropanol gasskromatografiskj i destillatet. Deretter trekkes det gjenværende heksan førsjt jut under normalt trykk deretter (ved ca. 65°C varmbadte'mpe-,ratur) i oljepumpevakum i løpet av 2 timer, hvorved manj får
i25,2 g aluminium-D-pantenolat.

som hvitt amorft pulver med et smelteintervall på 105-107°C bg en spesifikk dreining på [a]D= +31°C (c = 1% i dimetyl-sulfoksyd).

Deretter tørkés det gjenværende oppløsningsmiddel først under vannstråle- | pumpevakuum, deretter 2 timer i oljepumpevakuum til like-;vektskonstant, hvorved man 42,9 g sink-D-pantenolat.
