Forbindelsen og dens salter kan administreres alene eller i form av et farmasøytisk preparat. Forbindelsen kan fremstilles ved fremgangsmåter som er analoge med kjente fremgangsmåter, eller f.eks. ved å ring-slutte et 4-halo-N-(3,4-metylendioksyfenyl)butyra-mid i nærvær av vandig natriumhydroksyd og en fase-overføringskatalysator slik som trietylbenzyl-ammoniumklorid.
