Abstract

A distal fiber portion (6) comprising the distal end surface is, together with the dye (5), enclosed by an oxygen-permeable and liquid-permeable membrane (7) defining, in the enclosed area, a gas chamber (8) surrounding the distal end surface with the dye ( 5). The probe (1) is a component of a catheter (14) which additionally has a temperature sensor (30) and preferably a pressure sensor (28). There is thus a probe in which the sensitivity of the fiber to external influence at the measurement site is reduced and whereby the interpretation possibilities of the measurement results are improved.
