Abstract
Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår kimære smaksreseptorer omfattende den ekstracellulære del av én TlR eller en variant eller fragment derav, enten TlRl eller T1R2 og transmembran- delen av en annen TlR eller en variant eller fragment derav, enten TlRl eller T1R2, fortrinnsvis assosiert med et T1R3 polypeptid og et egnet G-protein. Disse kimære smaksreseptorer og celler som uttrykker slike kimære smaksreseptorer er anvendelige i forsøk for å identifisere søt- og umami-ligander så vel som i forsøk for å identifisere søt- og umami-enhancere. I tillegg kan disse kimære smaksreseptorer og celler som uttrykker disse anvendes for å kartlegge og bestemme hvor spesifikke søt- og umami-ligander interagerer med deres respektive reseptorer og belyse mekanismen av reseptor-aktivering.
