Abstract

Oppfinnelsen vedrører en fremgangsmåte for innsamling av seismikkdata fra flere posisjoner som er spredt ut over en sone på havbunnen. Fremgangsmåten ifølge oppfinnelsen innbefatter de følgende trinn: å transmittere akustiske bølger i vannlaget over sonen ved hjelp av et flertall av kilder; for hver posisjon, å droppe et seismisk innsamlingsutstyr fra overflaten, hvilket utstyr innbefatter en seismisk innsamlingsenhet og autonomt styringsutstyr utformet for mottak av akustiske signaler fra kildene og for styring av banen i samsvar med mottatte akustiske signaler, for derved å rette innsamlingsutstyret mot nevnte posisjon; å utføre en seismisk innsamling; å bevirke at innsamlingsutstyret beveges opp til overflaten; og å gjenvinne innsamlingsutstyret på overflaten.
