Abstract
Et apparat for separering av vann fra oljebasert borefluid inkluderer en separeringstank, et kjemisk behandlingsapparat med en eller flere de-oljende polymerprepareringstanker, og en oppløst luft-flotteringsenhet. Avfall i form av "slopslam" føres inn i separeringstanken hvor surfaktant tilsettes for å separere borefluidet fra oljeholdig vann. Borefluidet tømmes ut for videre bearbeiding. Det oljeholdige vann fjernes ved hjelp av et utløpsarrangement fra separeringstanken og føres til en initial behandlingsledning. En eller flere deoljende polymerer tilsettes til det oljeholdige vann i den initiale behandlingsledning og blandes dermed. Blandingen kan så føres til den oppløste luft-flotteringsenhet hvor oppløst luft frigis inn i bunnen av blandingen. Den oppløste luft hefter til oppslemmede faststoffer i blandingen og løfter dem til overflaten som et skum. Skummet blir deretter fjernet ved hjelp av en skimmer fra toppoverflaten av blandingen og samlet. Det avskummede vann anvendes på nytt eller føres til et filtreringssystem hvor det prepareres for utløp. En klaringstank kan være inkludert etter at de deoljende polymerer er tilsatt for ytterligere å separere oljen og vannet. Oljen fjernes fra toppoverflaten ved hjelp av et overløp mens vannet føres til filtreringssystemet og fjernes.
