Et antall RFID-lese-/skirveanordninger (10a, 10b) i et identisk miljø genererer muligens gjensidige interferenser som et resultat av det store effekten i et bæresignal (31) mens de gjensidig blokkerer hverandre, spesielt i radiosystemer som opererer i UHF- og mikrobølgeområdet. I henhold til oppfinnelsen er det brukt en softwaredefinert delvis basisbåndarkitektur (1 la, 1 lb) som omgir prosesseringen i en digital signalprosessor (13a, 13b), et leserservicesignal (32) som blir generert i signalprosessoren (13a, 13b) i basisbåndformen derav og blir lenket til et RFID-signal i basisbåndformen derav. Nevnte påtrykte leserservicesignal (32) er ikke detektert av en elektronisk etikett mens det er enkelt å motta og evaluere av de andre nærliggende RFID-lese-/skriveanordningene. Leserservicesignalet (32) kan innehold informasjon slik som en adresse, tidsmarkører, reservasjoner, prioriteter, eller data om tidligere prosesserte etiketter. Leserservicesignalet (32) gjør det mulig å få et system med flere RFID-lese-/skriveanordninger (10a, 10b) til å samarbeide uten å miste tid eller måtte bruke tilleggsmaskinvare.
