Abstract
Foreliggende oppfinnelse er rettet mot en anordning for skip som gjør det mulig å unngå hindringer, særlig hindringer som er neddyrket på lave dyp. Ved å utføre en tidlig deteksjon av ekkoene som stammer fra objekter som befinner seg i ruten til skipet, tillater anordningen særlig mannskapet på skipet å gjøre foranstaltning for å endre kursen for å unngå disse objekter. I den foretrukne utførelse omfatter anordningen ifølge oppfinnelsen i det minste: - to sendere av akustiske bølger (23, 25) avskilt fra hverandre og som sender bølger på distinkte frekvenser eller av forskjellige bølgeformer, - en akustisk mottaker (29), hvis mottaksbånd er egnet for emisjonsfrekvensene til senderne, - organer for å prosessere de mottatte signaler, idet disse organer gjør det mulig å utføre, gjennom de mottatte ekko, en måling av forskjellen mellom forplantningstidene for bølgene utsendt av hver av senderne så vel som en måling av Doppler-effekten som påvirker hver av de utsendte bølger, idet disse prosesseringsorganer slik bestemmer posisjonen av et objekt (27) som har returnert et ekko. Anordningen ifølge oppfinnelsen er særlig beregnet for flerskrogsskip og særlig for høyhastighets flerskrogsskip.
