Abstract

En sikrings- spindeltetning for en sluseventil opprettholder trykk i ventilhuset når ventilen er i lukket stilling. Sikringstetningen er sekundær til hovedspindeltetningsenheten (20) i ventildekslet (12). Den oppviser metallisk kontakt mellom flater (22, 24) som er radialt orientert eller skråner og kan dessuten omfatte et holdespor (26) for en tetningsring (32) i den ene eller begge de motstående metallflater (22, 24). Sporet (26) kan være utformet for bedre å holde ringen (12) fri fra skade pga. strømmende fluid når ventilen er åpen. En kanal gjennom dekslet (34) kan benyttes til å teste for lekkasje forbi slik tetning. Sikringstetningen muliggjør vedlikehold av hoved- spindeltetningen (20) uten å ta ventilen ut av drift.
