Det er tilveiebrakt en fremgangsmåte for generering av en spenningspuls, samt en slaganordning. I fremgangsmåten bhr tiykkfluid matet som tiykkpulser til et arbeidskammer som befinner seg mellom rammen til slaganordningen og et verktøy slik at den resulterende kraften presser verktøyet mot materialet som skal behandles. Slaganordningen innbefatter et arbeidskammer og midler for å føre tiykkfluid som tiykkpulser dertil slik at en kraft blir produsert mellom rammen til slaganordningen og et verktøy for å presse verktøyet mot materialet som skal behandles.
