Abstract
En sur gass, så som karbondioksid, hydrogensulfid eller blandinger derav, fjernes fra gasstrømmer ved anvendelse av vandige absorpsjons- og strippeprosesser. Ved å erstatte den konvensjonelle stripper som anvendes til å generere det vandige løsemiddel og fange inn den sure gass med en fler-trykkstripper som kombinerer komprimering av sur gass med stripping forbrukes mindre energi. Flertrykkstripperen er en flertrykkspyling hvor den totale dampstrøm fra hvert trinn komprimeres og mates til bunnen av det foregående spyletrinn ved et høyere trykk. Ved denne fremgangsmåte anvendes varmen i vanninnholdet i dampen som kommer ut fra hvert trinn ved et høyere trykk i det foregående trinn. Den beskrevne strippeprosess genererer den sure gass ved et høyere trykk uten at stripperen drives ved en høyere temperatur. Derved reduseres systemets energiforbruk.
