Abstract

En fremgangsmåte ved håndtering av postgjenstander omfatter at det dannes (1) et digitalt bilde av hver postgjenstand, som inneholder adresseinformasjon, og det ut fra bildet av postgjenstanden utføres en operasjon for automatisk gjenkjennelse av adressen ved hjelp av OCR (2, 3,4). Fremgangsmåten omfatter videre en prosess (5) hvor grupper eller "serier" av ensartede postgjenstander identifiseres automatisk, idet prosessen omfatter et trinn som består i at det fra bildet av postgjenstanden trekkes ut billedattributter (17, 74) som er egnet for å skjelne mellom grupper eller "serier" av ensartede postgjenstander.
