Abstract

En sykloidalpropell for et skip, med en rotor som har et antall vinger (4, 4'), som alle under drift utfører en svingebevegelse om en svingeakse. Vingenes svingeakser strekker seg parallelt med rotorens dreieakse. Ved vingenes frie ender er det anordnet en beskyttelsesplate (5) som strekker seg i det minste tilnærmet loddrett på rotorens dreieakse og vingenes svingeakser. Beskyttelsesplaten (5) har minst én spalte (7, 7') som strekker seg gjennom beskyttelsesplaten (5) og forløper i det minste tilnærmet loddrett på skipets fartsretning (R).
