Abstract
The method entails introducing gas into a particle-containing, molten metal to produce a free-flowing metal foam with voids having a monomodal distribution of their dimensions. The metal foam is at least partially introduced into a casting die and is compressed under essentially all-round pressure. The liquid phase is then allowed to solidify. An Independent claim is also included for a lightweight molded part.
