Måleinnretningen arbeider med et Michelson-interferometer med en sentrumsbølgelengde for målestrålingskilden i området fra 1310 nm og en monomode-Faser for denne bølgelengden i referansearmen, slik at den optiske veilengden i luft i målearmen er fritt
