Abstract

En forbrenningskatalysator omfatter et monolittisk substrat, en porøs bærer basert på varmemotstandsdyktig uorganisk oksyd og en aktiv fase som utgjøres av cerium, jem og minst ett metall valgt fra gruppen som utgjøres av palladium og pla- tina, idet innholdet av porøs bærer er mellom 100 og 400 g pr. liter katalysator, innholdet av cerium er mellom 0,3 og 20 vekt% i forhold til den porøse bærer, inn- holdet av jern er mellom 0,01 og 3,5 vekt% i forhold ril den porøse bærer, og innhol- det av palladium og/eller platina er mellom 3 og 20 g pr. liter katalysator. Katalysatoren ifølge oppfinnelsen anvendes spesielt i prosesser for katalytisk forbrenning av hydrokarboner, karbonmonoksyd, hydrogen eller blandinger av disse, idet prosessene omfatter ett eller flere katalytiske trinn.
