Abstract

Et infrarødt ATR-glukosemålesystem innbefatter en ikke-inngripende glukosemåle- innretning og en fremgangsmåte for bestemmelse av blodglukosenivået i det menneskelige legeme ved utnyttelse av innretningen. Ved typisk bruk vil glukose- måleinnretningen være selvnormaliserende idet den ikke benytter noen uavhengige referanseprøve. Innretningen baserer seg på ATR-infrarød spektroskop!. Fordelaktig kan innretningen benyttes på en fingertupp og sammenligner to spesifikke områder av et målt infrarød-spekter for derved å bestemme brukerens blodglukosenivå. Innretningen er særlig godt egnet for overvåking av glukosenivået i det menneskelige legeme, og der særlig gunstig for brukere som har diabetes mellitus. Innretningen og fremgangsmåten kan også benyttes for andre analysematerialer som oppviser unike midt-IR-signaturer av den beskrevne type og som finnes i egnede områder av ytterhuden.An infrared ATR glucose measurement system includes a non-invasive glucose measuring device and a method for determining the blood glucose level in the human body by utilizing the device. In typical use, the glucose measuring device will be self-normalizing as it does not use any independent reference sample. The device is based on the ATR infrared spectroscope !. Advantageously, the device can be used at a fingertip and compares two specific regions of a measured infrared spectrum to determine the user's blood glucose level. The device is particularly well suited for monitoring the glucose level in the human body, and particularly beneficial for users who have diabetes mellitus. The device and method may also be used for other analytical materials which exhibit unique mid-IR signatures of the type described and which are found in suitable regions of the outer skin.
