Abstract
Fremgangsmåte og terminal (100, 100') for digitaltransmisjon via en trådløs kommunikasjonsvei (102) og ved stor overføringshastighet, nemlig flere ganger 100 Mb/s, særlig beregnet for storbynett. I termi- nalen brukes aksesstyreenheter (MAC) (222) for media, for å motta datapakker i kategori Fast Ethernet, en multipleksenhet med i alt n innganger for å motta data- pakker fra et tilsvarende antall enheter (222) og slik at det på utgangen av multipleksenheten fremkommer tidsfordelte multipleksbehandlede data, og et pakkefor- materingsapparat (228) for omdanning av de data som kommer ut i multipleksbehandlet form, til bestemte sekvenser, her kalt radiorammer (350). En sender/mot- taker (212, 214) overfører disse over kommunikasjons- veien (102), idet denne har en maksimal båndbredde- kapasitet på minst nxlOOMb/s. Hver av aksesstyre- enhetene (222) kan omfatte en styrelogikkenhet (250) for å regulere overføringshastigheten, og bufferlagere (252) for midlertidig lagring av de datapakker som mot- tas av enhetene (222), før de videreføres til multi- pleksenhetens innganger. Enhetene (222) kan omfatte omkoplere (600) i henhold til lag to eller lag tre ifølge standarden, og omkoplerne har en 100 Mb/s port. Den maksimale overføringshastighet vil da bare være begrenset av kommunikasjonsveiens (102) båndbredde.
