Abstract

Oppfinnelsen vedrrer en fremgangsmåte for å fremstille gips og et jem-oksid pigment. fra avfallssyre som fremkommer fra fremstillingen av titan dioksid i følge sulfat fremgangsmåten. Oppfinnelsen erat i et innledende trinn nøytraliseres avfallssyren delvis ved å benytte en kalsium forbindelse, hvilket resulterer i utfelling og mulig direkte separasjon av gips. Den gjenværende lsningen nytraliseres videre i et andre trinn med utfelling av et bunnfall inneholdende Ti, Al, Cr, V og eventuelt Fe(IU). Fra den jem sulfat inneholdende lsningen som oppnås etter separasjonen av det faste stoffet, fremstilles et jem-oksid pigment i et tredje trinn ved tilsetning av alkaliske forbindelser og eventuelt ammoniakk og et oksideringsmiddel. Ved å tilsette CaO. og/eller Ca(OH)frigis ammoniakk fra den (NH^SOinneholdende løsningen som oppnås etter separasjonen av jern-oksid pigmentet.
