Description
Brannslange.
Brannslanger består av en vevet tekstil-slangevegg som ofte er forsynt med en ugjennomtrengelig foring av gummi, polyvinylklorid eller lignende materiale. Fordelene med en slik foring er følgende: 1. Slangen har en glatt boring som betyr mindre friksjonstap. 2. Uforede slanger er meget stive når de er våte og er derfor vanskelige å håndtere og kveile opp (dette på grunn av at f.eks. lin blir stivt).
Forede slanger fremstillet av bomull og syntetiske garn lider ikke av denne ulempe. 3. På grunn av bruken av syntetiske ma-terialer er forede slanger mer motstandsdyktige mot forråtnelse enn uforede slanger. 4. Forede slanger vil vanligvis motstå mer slitasje enn uforede slanger, før lekkasje oppstår. Med lekkasje menes for uforede slanger utstråling av vann til forskjell fra den normale svake utsiving som finner sted ved denne type slanger.
For slanger som imidlertid skal anvendes for bekjempelse av brann, f.eks. skogbrann, er det ønskelig at slangens utside skal være våt, da slangen vil være beskyttet mot sviing hvis brannen skulle komme over slangen, eller hvis slangen skulle bli lagt på glør. Dette er også ønskelig for visse andre anvendelser av brannslanger, f.eks. for slanger ombord på skip, hvor slangene kanskje må strekkes over et rødglødende dekk.
Uforede linslanger blir våte noen få sekun-der etter at vannet er satt på, på grunn av perkulering av vann gjennom slangeveggen, og er derfor meget motstandsdyktige mot sviing. Ved forede slanger oppstår imidlertid ingen slik gjennomstrømning av vann, og veggen forblir tørr og er derfor langt mere utsatt for å svies enn uforede slanger.
Det er kjent en slangeutførelse hvor man forener fordelene med den fullstendige gjen-nomvæting av slangevevnaden med de fordelene som de forede slanger har, og ved denne kjente utførelse påfører man på veggen til en løst vevet slange som i gjennomvætet, opp-svulmet tilstand har en viss perkulering, en foring i form av et elastisk eller plastisk tet-ningsmiddel, f.eks. latex, slik at slangens gjen-nomtrengelighet for vann reduseres i sterk grad uavhengig av slangevevnadens oppsvulm-ingsevne, men ikke elimineres helt. Det frem-stilles her en foring med lekkasjekanaler. Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører en slange, særlig brannslange av vevet tekstil, hvis innside er påført et vannugjennomtrengelig materiale som ikke fullstendig hindrer perkulering av vann gjennom slangen, og slangen er ifølge oppfinnelsen kjennetegnet ved at det vannugjennomtrengelige materiale fyller fordypningene i vevningen i slangeveggen, men bare impregnerer toppene, slik at det finner sted en forutbestemt perkulering av vann gjennom slangeveggen.
Slangene ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse har de ovennevnte fordeler som er karakteristiske for en slange med ugjennomtrengelig foring, men er likevel mindre utsatt for sviing. Fortrinnsvis er fordypningene i vevningen fylt med foringsmateriale opp til toppene, således at slangen har et glatt løp, hvorved innvendig friksjon reduseres til et minimum.
Ved egnet valg av impregneringsgraden for toppene i vevningen kan slangen konstrue-res således at den er i det vesentlige ikke gjennomtrengelig under et innvendig vanntrykk på 7 kg pr. cm2 inntil slangen er utsatt for varme, men skaffer likevel tilstrekkelig gjennomtrengning, når den er i bruk for bekjempelse av branner, til å beskytte slangen mot forkulling.
Fortrinnsvis bør maksimumsgjennom-trengning ikke overskride de mengder som er angitt ved de tidsintervaller og trykk som er angitt i det følgende.
Bemerkelsesverdig ved slangen ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse er at skjønt overflaten forblir i det vesentlige tørr, så lenge slangen forblir kold, kan den likevel «svette», når den trekkes gjennom glør eller på annen måte un-derkastes varme, i en utstrekning som er tilstrekkelig til å hindre slangeveggen i å svies.
Oppfinnelsen vil i det følgende beskrives ved hjelp av tegningene hvor fig. 1 viser en del av en slange ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse. Fig. 2 er et snitt etter linjen A-A på fig. 1. Fig. 3 er et snitt etter linjen B-B på fig. 1. Fig. 4—5 er snitt som viser forskjellige grader av impregnering av vevningens topper. Fig. 6 viser en kjent slangeutførelse. Fig. 7 er en grafisk fremstilling som viser en gjennomstrømning i slangen. Slangeveggen 10 (fig. 1—3) har renning 11 og veft 12, og foringsmaterialet 13 fyller forsenkningene 14 i vevningen, men impregnerer bare toppene 15. Fig. 4—6 illustrerer hvor-ledes forskjellig grad impregnering av toppene påvirker gjennomstrømning. I fig. 4 er impreg-neringen så svak at det er en vesentlig gjen-
nomstrømning endog i kald tilstand. I fig. 5 er mellomrommene i vevningen og toppene tilstrekkelig impregnert til å sikre at der bare vil være liten, om i det hele tatt noen gjen-nomstrømning i kald tilstand, mens slangen likevel vil være istand til å «svette» ved opp-varming. Fig. 6 viser en kjent slangeveggutførelse hvor vevningen er så sterkt impregnert med foringsmateriale at det ikke skaffer noen gjen-nomstrømning endog når slangen er varm. Fig. 7 viser kurver for gjennomstrømning i forhold til tiden ved et innvendig vanntrykk på 7 kg/cm2. AB er kurven for uforet slange og CD kurven for en slange ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse. Gjennomstrømningen ifølge kurven CD overskrider ikke de grenser som nor-malt er akseptert for brannslukkingsformål, men er likevel tilstrekkelig til å beskytte slangen mot varme.

1. Slange, særlig brannslange av vevet tekstil, hvis innside er påført et vannugjennomtrengelig materiale som ikke fullstendig hindrer perkulering av vann gjennom slangen,
